
The Gyaasehene of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council and chief of Akyem Kwabeng, Daasebre Ayimadu Kantamanto II, has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting adult education in his community, describing it as key to national development and social transformation.
As part of activities marking the 7th anniversary of his enstoolment, Daasebre Kantamanto emphasized that adult education is essential for tackling illiteracy, poverty, and poor governance.
He drew inspiration from Ghana’s 1940s mass education movement, promising to revive a similar initiative in Kwabeng to empower residents with the knowledge and skills needed for development.
The chief noted that strengthening adult education would not only boost economic growth but also improve health and governance in the community.
He further pledged to collaborate with the Atiwa West District Assembly to commission a newly completed health insurance office in Kwabeng and ensure it becomes fully operational for the benefit of residents.
