Adom TV is set to premiere a powerful new documentary exposing the scale of election-related violence that continues to threaten Ghana’s democracy.
Titled “Ghana’s Gunpoint Elections,” the documentary airs on Friday, October 3, at 3:00 pm on Adom TV.
It traces the country’s history of electoral violence from 1992 through to the 2024 polls, where at least 63 lives were lost, scores left disabled, and public facilities including Electoral Commission offices and police stations torched.
The documentary features survivors, victims who have been left amputees, as well as journalists and security officers who suffered attacks while on duty.
It also revisits violent flashpoints such as Talensi, Chereponi, Ayawaso West Wuogon, Odododiodoo, and Ablekuma North, among others.
“Ghana’s Gunpoint Elections” was scripted and edited by A.C. Ohene and produced by Jagri Boaz Binyinjom and Ruth Nyarko.
Viewers are promised a shocking yet revealing account of the growing threat electoral violence poses to Ghana’s Fourth Republic.
