Boakye Agyarko officially declares intention to contest NPP National chairmanship

Former Energy Minister Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko has announced his intention to contest for the position of National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the party’s upcoming internal elections.

In a statement released on Tuesday, September 30, Mr. Agyarko said the decision followed careful deliberations with his family, close associates, and extensive consultations with party members nationwide.

He explained that after considering the concerns of stakeholders and the expectations of the grassroots, he felt a responsibility to put himself forward for the role.

“I have consulted with my family and those closest to me whose lives would be most affected by my decision. I have also listened to the voices of our party faithful and even those outside the NPP. Taking all this into account, I feel it is my bounden duty to answer this call to service. Therefore, I will contest the position of National Chairman of my party once nominations officially open,” he stated.

Mr. Agyarko added that his candidacy is focused on strengthening party unity and ensuring effective structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.
