2026 WCQ: Otto Addo to name Black Stars squad for final qualifiers this week

Otto Addo

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is expected to announce his squad this week for Ghana’s crucial final round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The four-time African champions, who top Group I with 19 points, will face the Central African Republic and Comoros in their last two fixtures. A win in either match would secure their place at next year’s tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Ghana will kick off the campaign away to the Central African Republic at Al Abdi Stadium in El Jadida on Wednesday, October 8. The team is set to assemble in Accra before departing for Casablanca ahead of the encounter.

The Black Stars will then conclude their qualifiers against Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12.

After the disappointment of missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Otto Addo and his technical team face pressure to deliver a strong squad and restore national pride by securing World Cup qualification.
