NPP flagbearer race: Bawumia begins two-day tour of Central Region

Former Vice President and 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has commenced a two-day tour of the Central Region today, Monday, 29 September.

The visit is part of his campaign activities as he seeks re-election as the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.

Dr Bawumia is scheduled to meet regional and constituency executives, engaging them on the party’s strategy and preparations for the next polls.

His tour will also include courtesy calls on traditional authorities, as well as interactions with grassroots supporters and opinion leaders.

Party officials say the Central Region remains a key battleground ahead of 2028, and Dr Bawumia’s engagements aim to consolidate his support base while addressing concerns from local party structures.

His campaign team described the tour as a crucial step in sustaining momentum and energising the grassroots.

Supporters in the region expressed enthusiasm about his visit, highlighting his accessibility and experience as key strengths that make him the strongest candidate to lead the NPP into the next general election.
