Upper Denkyira West Assembly to build health centers, classrooms

The Upper Denkyira West District Assembly has outlined plans to embark on major development projects to improve the lives of residents.

This was announced during the Assembly’s first General Meeting where members reviewed reports from its various subcommittees.

District Chief Executive, Isaac Nsiah, said the Assembly will construct a health centre with a two-bedroom nurse quarters at Ayanfuri, as well as a CHPS compound with a two-bedroom nurse quarters at Dankwakrom.

He added that the projects are expected to expand access to healthcare for residents.

In education, a three-unit classroom block will be built at Treposo, while Nkwantanum will receive a two-unit kindergarten block to enhance teaching and learning in the district.

The DCE also revealed that mechanized boreholes will be constructed in several communities to provide safe drinking water, while the District Assembly building will undergo renovation to improve operations and service delivery.

Meanwhile, Presiding Member of the Assembly, Akwasi Amponsah, has expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for introducing allowances for Assembly Members.

He appealed to government to consider paying the allowances monthly to enable members manage their finances more effectively.
