DJ Awana began his elementary education at a community school and later attended Good Shepherd Secondary Technical School from 1996 to 1999, where he excelled as a bright and diligent student.

After high school, he nurtured his passion for music by working part-time as a DJ with Solar Sound.

He later joined FM2 as a DJ, where his talent quickly gained recognition and his music reached many homes across Ghana. After a brief stint at Japon station, where he struggled to settle, he returned to Mid-Mix on Friday, where he continued his work until his passing.
