Former Information Minister and ex-Works and Housing Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has appealed to former executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and past government appointees to reward Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with their votes.
Speaking on Thursday, September 25, as part of Dr. Bawumia’s campaign activities, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah reminded the group that the NPP’s 2024 presidential candidate was instrumental in securing their inclusion in the party’s decision-making process.
He recalled that it was Dr. Bawumia who pushed for the amendment of the NPP’s constitution, granting former executives and appointees the right to serve as delegates.
“Dr. Bawumia fought for you to be part of the decision-making process of our party. He ensured that your voices would not be left out,” Mr. Oppong Nkrumah said.
He stressed that this amendment was more than a constitutional change, as it recognized the service and contributions of those who had previously held key roles in the party and government.
“By broadening the base of delegates, Dr. Bawumia demonstrated his belief that your experience and commitment should continue to shape the future of the NPP,” he added.
As Dr. Bawumia continues his campaign, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah urged the newly recognized delegates to reflect on the role he played in amplifying their voices.
“The best way to acknowledge his effort is to reward him with your votes. Let us stand firmly with him and ensure his victory as he leads the party into the 2028 general elections,” he appealed.
