The Public Relations Officer for Bibiani Gold Stars, Samuel Kwagyire, has explained that the club parted ways with coach Frimpong Manso because his plans did not align with the team’s future business objectives.
Manso, who guided the club to their first league title in history last May, was unexpectedly sacked following their 2-0 home defeat to Algeria’s JS Kabylie in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round at the Accra Sports Stadium.
His assistant, Nana Yaw Amankwah, will now lead the team in the return leg in Algeria on Sunday.
Speaking to Luv FM, Kwagyire said the decision stemmed from a mismatch between the coach’s approach and the club’s strategic vision.
“It has to do with a management decision. They feel that the future business plan of the team does not align with coach Frimpong Manso’s methods, and for that reason, we have to part ways,” he explained.
He added: “There is a code of ethics and conduct for every role. The club believes that what the team needs to work towards is not fully reflected in the coach’s approach. While he is a good coach, any ideology that goes contrary to the team’s roadmap cannot continue with the team. He has served well, and we thank him for his contributions, but the partnership has to end.”
