The Minister for the Ahafo Region, Charity Gardiner, has announced that government will establish a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) office in the Asutifi North District before the end of 2025.
Speaking at a mini durbar in Kenyasi, the Minister explained that the absence of a DVLA office in both Asutifi North and South districts has forced drivers to travel to Sunyani or Goaso to process licenses and related documents, causing unnecessary stress.
She added that plans are also underway to establish a passport office in Goaso before the end of President John Dramani Mahama’s tenure. This, she said, will reduce the burden on residents who currently travel long distances to Kumasi or Sunyani for passport services.
“By the end of this year, Asutifi North will have its own DVLA office, and very soon, a passport office at Goaso to ease the struggles of our people,” the Minister said.

The Member of Parliament for Asutifi North, Dr. Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, also assured residents that he, the District Chief Executive, and the Regional Minister are committed to driving development in the district.
He highlighted key priority areas, including water supply, roads, health, sanitation, and electricity.
“We will continue to work together to ensure our communities benefit from the essential infrastructure and services they deserve,” Dr. Addo said.
