The Ghana Police Service has arrested two people in connection with a robbery that took place at Spintex, Accra, on September 14, 2025.
Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, confirmed the arrests during a briefing.
“On 14th September 2025, the GPS received the report of a robbery at the residence of a 35-year-old man at Spintex in Accra,” she said.
According to her, at about 3:25 a.m., two armed men broke into the victim’s home and made away with gold jewelry, a laptop, wristwatches, handbags, clothing, and cash totaling $5,000 and GHS 21,645.
Police officers responded swiftly to the scene, where a machete, metal cutter, and a T-shirt believed to have been left behind by the suspects were retrieved as evidence.
The crime scene was processed, and investigations began immediately.
Acting on intelligence, the police arrested 26-year-old Prince Opoku, also known as Agyenkwa, and Nigerian national Jennifer Nweke at Adenta on September 18.
“A search conducted on them revealed some of the stolen items, including jewelry, mobile phones, and large sums of cash,” COP Donkor disclosed.
The suspects later led investigators to their hideout at Abokobi, where additional stolen items belonging to the victim were recovered.
“During interrogation, suspect Opoku admitted his involvement in the crime and mentioned one Mensah, alias Taller, as his accomplice and leader of the operation,” COP Donkor added.
The Police say efforts are underway to track down the other suspects who are currently on the run.
