
The Kristo Asafo Mission and the Safo Family have officially confirmed the passing of their founder and leader, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo ‘Kantanka’.
In a statement signed by Sarah Adwoa Safo, the family announced that Apostle Safo passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
“With profound sorrow and deepest grief, the Safo Family and the Kristo Asafo Church announce the peaceful passing of Ghana’s beloved man of God, the greatest technological icon, philanthropist, agriculturalist and industrialist,” the statement read.
The family described him as “a true genius, a beacon of hope for many, and a father to the fatherless,” adding that “Ghana has indeed lost a gallant son and a true legend.”
The statement further appealed to the public to respect the privacy of the family during this period of grief.
Funeral and burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
Romans 14:8, quoted in the release, summed up the family’s tribute: “For if we live, we live to the Lord and if we die, we die to the Lord.”
Born on August 26, 1948, in Bekwai in the Ashanti Region, Apostle Safo rose to prominence as both a spiritual leader and a technological pioneer.
He founded the Kantanka Group, which made groundbreaking strides in agriculture, electronics, as well as the automobile industry through Kantanka Automobiles.
He was widely revered as a visionary who blended faith with innovation through which he inspiring generations with his message of self-reliance and belief in African ingenuity.
