Two injured while fighting warehouse fire in Larterbiokorshie

The Greater Accra Regional Fire Officer, ACFO II Rashid Kwame Nisawu, has confirmed that two people sustained injuries while trying to extinguish a raging fire that gutted a warehouse at Larterbiokorshie.

ACFO II Nisawu explained that one fire officer and a civilian fell from the top of the burning structure during the firefighting operation.

Both were given emergency treatment on-site by ambulance personnel before being rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

They have since been treated and discharged, with the Accra Metro Fire Commander confirming they are in stable condition.

The inferno has largely been brought under control, though small pockets of fire remain. Excavators have been deployed to help firefighters reach deep-seated flames.

Five fire engines and tankers are currently at the scene, working to fully extinguish the remaining smoke. Officials are hopeful that by evening, the area will be safe enough for residents to return home.
