A 26-year-old fashion designer, Mabel Asantewaa, has been stabbed to death by her boyfriend at Kalabule Chinese, near the Kasoa Tollbooth in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
According to information gathered by Adom News, the suspect, identified as 28-year-old carpenter Bra Sammy, allegedly attacked Mabel in a washroom after she rejected his request for sex, explaining that she was menstruating.
Police sources say a heated argument ensued, during which the suspect stabbed her multiple times.
After the attack, Bra Sammy reportedly ingested a poisonous substance in an attempt to take his own life.
He was rushed to the Amanfrom Polyclinic, where he is currently receiving treatment under police guard.
Eyewitnesses described the incident as shocking, noting that the couple had seemed to be on good terms before the tragedy.
The Weija Divisional Police Command has since taken over the case as investigations continue.
