Ahafo Minister engages Hwidiem market women on government programmes

The Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardiner, has engaged market women in Hwidiem to create awareness about key government initiatives designed to improve their livelihoods.

In an interview with Adom News after the interaction, Madam Gardiner observed that many traders were not aware of interventions such as the Women’s Development Bank, Youth in Apprenticeship, Adwumawura, and MASLOC facilities, as well as plans for a 24-hour modern market.

She assured the women that these programmes, once fully implemented, would help ease their challenges and transform their economic activities.

According to her, the poor state of the current market will be addressed through the construction of the proposed 24-hour economy market, which is expected to provide a more conducive environment for trading.

District Chief Executive for Asutifi South, Benjamin Assabil Donkor, added that the planned ultra-modern market will be equipped with all necessary facilities to enhance commercial activities and boost the incomes of market women.
