Water supply has been restored to Dodowa and surrounding communities in the north-eastern part of Accra following a fire outbreak at the Dodowa Booster Station that disrupted operations.
The incident caused significant damage to two of the station’s panels, temporarily interrupting water supply to the area.

Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, who visited the facility to assess the situation, commended the engineers on site for their swift response in containing the fire and preventing a more serious crisis.

According to Station Manager Adolf Agbezuhlor, the fire was triggered by intermittent power fluctuations in the area on Thursday. He noted that although supply was briefly affected, the damaged panels were promptly repaired, and normal operations have since resumed.
