Bono Region YEA engages final-year SHS students on post-school job opportunities

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in the Bono Region has launched a sensitization programme aimed at guiding final-year Senior High School (SHS) students to explore job opportunities after completing their education.

The initiative targeted candidates currently sitting for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and seeks to encourage students to make productive use of their time post-school by contacting YEA for employment avenues.

Speaking to Adom News after engaging students at Sunyani Secondary School (SUSEC), Bono Regional Director of YEA, Mr. Mustapha Omar Copson, said the exercise aligns with the government’s policy to create sustainable job pathways for young people.

He highlighted available openings in key sectors such as the Police Service, Immigration Service, Fire Service, Prisons Service, and the National Ambulance Service. Over 1,000 youth have already secured jobs in the region through YEA interventions, he added.

Mr. Copson encouraged graduates to regularly visit YEA district offices for inquiries and to take advantage of available opportunities.

Participating students expressed gratitude to YEA for exposing them to potential career paths and pledged to engage the agency after completing their SHS education.
