Felix Afena-Gyan joins Turkish side Amedspor on loan

Ghana forward Felix Afena-Gyan has completed a loan move to Turkish second-tier club Amedspor from Italian side Cremonese, with the deal including an option to make the transfer permanent.

Amedspor confirmed the 22-year-old’s arrival on Wednesday in an official statement.

“Our club has signed a one-year loan agreement with an option to buy for the 2025-2026 season with professional footballer Felix Ohene Afena Gyan,” the club said.

“We believe that Felix Ohene Afena Gyan will make significant contributions under our green-and-red jersey, and we wish him success in his Amedspor career while hoping this transfer brings good fortune to our club.”

This move represents Afena-Gyan’s second loan spell since joining Cremonese in 2022. He spent last season on loan at Juventus Next Gen, where he regained form with 10 goals in 30 Serie C appearances.

Afena-Gyan’s career had slowed after his €6 million transfer from AS Roma to Cremonese. In his debut Serie A season, he managed 23 appearances, starting only eight, before a fracture sidelined him for much of the following campaign in Serie B.

The Kumasi-born striker, who burst onto the scene at Roma as a teenager, has seven caps for Ghana’s Black Stars, scoring once.
