10 passengers injured in Esarkyir Junction collision

At least 10 passengers sustained serious injuries after a Toyota Hiace collided with a Toyota Vitz at Esarkyir Junction on the Apam–Cape Coast highway in the Central Region.

The victims were rushed to the Mankessim Government Hospital for treatment.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Toyota Hiace, with registration number GW 8661-14, was traveling from Mankessim to Accra, while the Toyota Vitz, with registration number GG 1375-22, was headed from Accra to Mankessim.

Following the crash, both vehicles veered into nearby food vendors, destroying property at the junction.

One eyewitness, Kwesi Bronya, confirmed that the injured were transported for medical care and appealed to the Minister of Roads and Highways to construct speed ramps at the junction to curb the frequent accidents in the area.
