Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has paid an emotional tribute to her late colleagues who perished in the August 6 military helicopter crash.
She remembered them as selfless patriots dedicated to the service of Ghana.
Speaking at the state funeral, she recalled the late Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, and other victims as determined leaders whose focus and commitment to duty were unwavering.
She reflected on her working relationship with Dr. Boamah through the Ghana Armed Forces Council, praising his readiness to tackle assignments with diligence and his openness to collaboration.
Quoting Ivorian poet Bernard Dadié, the Vice President reminded mourners that “the dead are not gone forever… they are in the rustling tree, in the murmuring wood, in the flowing water,” adding that the legacies of loyalty, justice, dedication, and hard work left by the victims would continue to guide the nation.
“They are always with us. Thanks for leaving these gifts, and more, with us. Rest in peace.”
