The Takoradi Air Force Base was enveloped in solemnity as a vigil was held to pay tribute to the crew and officials who perished in the military helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6.
The gathering drew service personnel, government representatives, grieving families, and members of the public, all coming together to honour the memory of the eight victims.
Under the glow of candlelight and the sound of soft, mournful music, participants offered prayers and shared reflections on the lives of the two ministers of state and senior military officers lost in the crash at Adansi in the Ashanti Region.
Speakers described the deceased as courageous patriots whose dedication to the nation’s peace and security will never be forgotten.

The ceremony was also a moment for the Armed Forces and the wider community to stand in unity with the bereaved families, reaffirming the country’s gratitude for the sacrifices of its servicemen and women.
