The family of late Ghanaian highlife legend, Dada Kwaku Duah, popularly known as Dada K.D., has announced a new date for his final funeral rites.
Initially scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025, the state-assisted burial will now take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra.
According to the family, the burial and final thanksgiving service will follow on Sunday, September 7, at Agona Asamang in the Ashanti Region, the late musician’s hometown.
The funeral is expected to attract dignitaries, fellow musicians, key industry figures, and fans, in honour of Dada K.D.’s immense contributions to Ghanaian music over the past three decades.
The rescheduling is believed to be in response to the national mourning period declared after the tragic military helicopter crash in the Adansi District, which claimed eight lives.
Dada K.D. passed away on May 17, 2025, after a brief illness, leaving behind a rich musical legacy.
