Jospong Group offers to stand as surety for Adom-Otchere

Former Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) Board Chairman, Paul Adom-Otchere, has been released from the custody of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) after the Jospong Group of Companies stepped in as surety under revised bail conditions.

He was freed from the OSP’s office in the company of former Attorney General Godfred Dame and his lawyers on Friday, August 1, 2025, but was later recalled to complete what has been described as administrative procedures.

The OSP confirmed the development in a statement posted on its social media platforms.

“The revised terms, which meet the objectives of the original bail conditions, have been secured by the Jospong Group of Companies,” the OSP said, adding that the case remains under active investigation.

The revisions follow negotiations between Mr. Adom-Otchere’s legal counsel and the OSP.

He had earlier been detained after failing to meet the original bail conditions, which required two landed properties registered in his name—a requirement he could not meet, as he reportedly does not own any landed property in Ghana.

Adom-Otchere was questioned and detained in connection with a revenue assurance contract between GACL and a private firm, which the OSP alleges was awarded without full board approval.
