Akwatia by-election: Do you drink water when you wake up? – Nana B jabs Mustapha Gbande [Video]

The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has hit back at the Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, over recent comments ahead of the Akwatia by-election.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Nana B described Mr. Gbande’s remarks as reckless and intended to create fear and panic.

“Is Akwatia for him? You just wake up and say anything. These unfortunate comments are just to destroy the peace of this country,” he said.

Nana B stressed that the NPP will not be intimidated by threats of arrests or violence.

“We are ready, and we will protect ourselves in Akwatia. The seat is already ours, so the NDC should stop talking,” he added.

Responding directly to Mr. Gbande, Nana B said, “Who is Mustapha Gbande? We’ll be waiting for him in Akwatia. Nobody drinks water when they wake up and starts talking anyhow. Does he even drink water when he wakes up every morning?”

On the issue of arrests, he challenged the NDC’s assertions, saying:
“Do we arrest people at Akwatia? If anyone is invited by the security agencies, they will show up. So what’s he talking about?”

His comments follow warnings by Mustapha Gbande that individuals within the NPP with pending criminal cases would be arrested if they appear in Akwatia.

While Gbande maintained that the NDC was committed to a peaceful campaign, he noted that his party would not tolerate any form of lawlessness during the by-election.
