NDC’s two-thirds majority a big mistake – Collins Owusu Amankwah warns

Collins Owusu Amankwah, Member of Parliament for Manhyia North constituency

Former Manhyia North MP, Collins Owusu Amankwah, has raised concerns over the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s current two-thirds majority in Parliament, warning that it could have dire consequences for the country.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Amankwah described the development as “the biggest mistake Ghanaians have made.”

“The NDC now has a two-thirds majority. They can impose bad laws on us that we will all regret. They are constantly using their power, passing bills into law at odd hours without the minority’s input. Ghanaians have made a big mistake,” he stated.

He accused the NDC of using its parliamentary dominance to push partisan interests rather than prioritising national development.

Currently, the NDC holds 184 seats in Parliament, supported by four independent MPs—giving the party the numbers to pass key legislation without needing support from the minority side.
