The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the nationwide reinstatement of Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), following a directive from President John Mahama.
The decision was communicated in a statement signed by the Head of the Public Affairs Unit, Daniel Fenyi, and dated Wednesday, July 17, 2025.
According to the statement, the move aims to enhance collaboration between parents, teachers, and the wider community in the quest to deliver quality education.
“All heads of public senior high schools, technical, and STEM schools are to operationalise the reinstatement with immediate effect,” it added.
GES believes that the reintroduction of PTAs will boost support for public schools in critical areas including infrastructure development, student discipline, and academic performance.
The Service has called on all stakeholders to lend their support to ensure smooth and effective implementation.
