In a significant move to enhance digital education in Ghana, the Ministry of Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with E-Learning Africa.
This strategic partnership aims to promote e-learning and strengthen foundational education nationwide.
The MoU underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to investing in digital learning infrastructure and fostering innovation within the education sector.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, highlighted the importance of the agreement, calling it a testament to Ghana’s vision of becoming a leader in digital education across Africa.
“Today marks more than the signing of a formal agreement—it reflects Ghana’s determination to lead in Africa’s digital transformation,” Dr. Apaak said. “Since 2005, E-Learning Africa has served as the continent’s premier platform for educational innovation, and we are proud to be part of this journey.”
He also announced that Ghana will host the 18th edition of the E-Learning Africa Conference in Accra from June 3–5, 2026.
“We look forward to welcoming delegates from across the world to our capital, where we will showcase not only our business hub but also the remarkable progress we’ve made through initiatives such as the GALOP project and our education planning goals through 2030,” he added.
E-Learning Africa has worked across the continent for more than 20 years, collaborating with governments to improve digital learning ecosystems despite challenges such as limited internet access and underdeveloped digital infrastructure.
The founder and leader of E-Learning Africa, Rebecca Stromeyer, commended Ghana for its strides in embracing digital education and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration.
“Ghana has achieved so much, including support for young startups in the digital space,” Madam Stromeyer said.
“With the upcoming conference, we aim to highlight Ghana’s growing e-learning infrastructure, and we at E-Learning Africa are committed to investing in its further development.”
