Ghana Premier League giants, Hearts of Oak, have reassigned Aboubakar Ouattara as Special Advisor to the Board of Directors.
The announcement comes shortly after the club appointed Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as head coach on a two-year deal ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Ouattara, who was appointed head coach in January 2024 on a two-and-a-half-year contract, played a key role in steering the Phobians clear of relegation. Under his leadership, the club finished the just-ended season in a respectable 4th place.
In an official statement issued on Tuesday, June 24, Hearts of Oak confirmed Ouattara’s new role:
“The Board of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has reassigned Aboubakar Ouattara from the role of Head Coach to Special Advisor to the Board of Directors.
As a Special Advisor, Aboubakar Ouattara will be working directly with the Board of Directors on special assignments and duties. The Board conveys its congratulations to Aboubakar Ouattara in his new role and looks forward to a good collaboration to move the club to new heights.”
Meanwhile, newly appointed head coach Didi Dramani has begun preparations with the team for the 2025 President’s Cup.
Hearts of Oak will face arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in the one-off fixture scheduled for July 6, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
