Member of Parliament for Mpraeso, Davis Ansah Opoku, has disclosed that Dr. Bryan Acheampong, MP for Abetifi and former Minister for Food and Agriculture, is preparing to contest the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer position ahead of the 2028 general elections.
In an interview with Channel One TV, Mr. Opoku revealed that although an official announcement has not been made, Dr. Acheampong has firmly decided to join the race once the party opens nominations.
“I believe the committee is finalising its report, but I can confidently say he is determined to contest. Very soon, Ghanaians will hear from him,” Mr. Opoku said.
He praised Dr. Acheampong’s leadership qualities, describing him as a strategic and visionary leader capable of transforming Ghana.
“Bryan Acheampong has what it takes to move Ghana forward. He has the capacity to mobilise the right human resources and a clear vision for national progress,” he stated.
Mr. Opoku added that plans are already underway to communicate that vision to both the party and the nation.
“We’re preparing to share that vision with Ghanaians and, more importantly, with NPP delegates,” he concluded.
