Asante Kotoko Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, has revealed that the club will soon make a decision on the future of interim head coach Karim Zito.
Zito, who previously coached Dreams FC and Ghana’s U-20 team, took over from Prosper Narteh Ogum in the latter part of the 2024/25 season.
Under his leadership, the Porcupine Warriors finished fourth in the Ghana Premier League and clinched their 10th FA Cup title with a 2-1 victory over Golden Kick FC.
Despite the success, his future at the club remains uncertain.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Duku praised Zito’s impact but noted that his position would be subject to review.
“When Karim Zito was appointed, we announced that he would be in there as the interim, but he has performed well,” he said.
“In the Premier League, he lost just one game and went all the way to win the FA Cup.
“He has done well, but we will review the season and make a decision whether Karim Zito will stay as the substantive head coach or we will bring in someone else. But I’m happy with the performance of Karim Zito and the work he has done,” he added.
Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
