The Today for Tomorrow Fund (TFT) has commissioned two newly constructed classroom blocks as part of its commitment to enhancing education in Ghana. The commissioning ceremony was held on 22nd May 2025 at Sakasaka in Tamale.
The project includes a four-classroom block with an office for Sakasaka Junior High School (JHS) and a three-classroom block for the Sakasaka Kindergarten School. This marks a significant milestone in improving educational infrastructure in the Northern Region.
The initiative comes at a critical time—Sakasaka JHS had previously lost its classroom block to a fire several years ago, while the kindergarten facility at Sakasaka M/A Primary School ‘D’ had become dilapidated and unsafe for use.
The event was attended by key stakeholders, including the Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service, TFT Directors Yusif Ya-Adzagey and Sephania Koutanyi, Member of Parliament for Sunyani East Hon. Seid Mubarak, and the Mayor of Tamale, Alhaji Abubakari Adam Takoro. They all expressed gratitude to the many partners and artisans whose efforts brought the project to life.
TFT Directors acknowledged Moolre Limited and Millennial Assets and Properties Ltd for funding the project, commending their unwavering commitment to community development.
Speaking at the event, Director of TFT Sephania Koutanyi said:
“This initiative is more than just bricks and mortar; it symbolises hope and a shared vision for a better future. By providing improved learning spaces, we aim to inspire both students and educators to reach their full potential.”
MP Seid Mubarak emphasised the critical role of teachers and parents in ensuring that children—Ghana’s future leaders—receive the best possible education through sustained community support.
The Mayor of Tamale, Alhaji Abubakari Adam Takoro, pledged the assembly’s full support in maintaining the new classroom blocks to ensure their long-term impact.
TFT reaffirmed its commitment to driving positive change, revealing plans to soon commission three ICT centres in the Volta and Bono Regions.
This commissioning stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, purposeful leadership, and the belief that education is key to sustainable development.
