Asempa FM’s Fire Lady donates to Ashaiman Future Leaders FC to mark birthday

Renowned sports broadcaster and executive producer of Asempa FM’s leading sports programme, the Ultimate Sports Morning Show, Mavis Amanor Avornyo — popularly known as Fire Lady — marked her birthday in a truly impactful way by giving back to the community.

As part of her celebration, Fire Lady, through her VISMA Foundation, made a generous donation to Ashaiman Future Leaders FC, a youth football club nurturing talent in one of Ghana’s vibrant urban communities.

The donation was made even more remarkable thanks to the support of several key sponsors who believed in her vision and mission.

Legendary actress Auntie B, former Kotoko and Hearts of Oak player Edward Affum, and members of the VISMA Foundation were present to support Fire Lady at the brief ceremony.

Wilmar Africa Ltd., producers of household staples such as Frytol oil, Fortune Rice, Jamaa washing powder, and Rich margarine brands, played a significant role in bringing this charitable initiative to life. Jamaa detergent is produced by African Consumer Products Ghana Ltd. (a subsidiary of Wilmar Africa Ltd.). As a company that continues to invest in community development and well-being, their contribution was both generous and strategic.

They provided food items and hygiene products, ensuring the young footballers not only felt appreciated but also supported in their health and nutrition.

Twellium Industries, the powerhouse behind popular products like Verna Mineral Water, Bigoo drinks, and a wide variety of beverages, also lent their full support to the cause.

Their donation of refreshments and consumables added a vibrant touch to the celebration, ensuring the young players and community members felt the joy of the occasion.

Known for backing youth and wellness programmes across the country, Twellium once again demonstrated their dedication to youth empowerment by partnering with Fire Lady on this impactful project.

Community-focused businesses like Mama Lit Special at Madina Social Welfare and Ciscakes also joined hands to make the event a success. Mama Lit Special provided warm, home-cooked meals that reminded recipients of the love and care of family.

In addition to the wide range of products donated, Fire Lady handed over an undisclosed amount of money to Ashaiman Future Leaders FC.

Speaking after the donation, the birthday celebrant praised Twellium Industries, Wilmar Africa, Mama Lit Special, and Ciscakes for their unwavering commitment to social responsibility and consistent involvement in grassroots projects.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Ashaiman Future Leaders FC, Coach Sabato heaped praises on Fire Lady and her VISMA Foundation for their kind gesture and called for more support from corporate institutions and well-meaning individuals.
