AgroCrown delivers life-changing borehole with 10,000-litre tank to Ofosu

A once-forgotten farming community in Ghana’s Oti Region is celebrating new life, thanks to a powerful act of corporate compassion.

Agro Crown West Africa Company Limited (AgroCrown) has commissioned a mechanized borehole with a 10,000-litre polytank in Ofosu, providing hundreds of families with access to clean and safe water for the first time in decades.

“It’s more than water. It’s health, it’s dignity, it’s hope,” said Madam Lydia Akoto, a mother of five. “Before this, our children were always falling sick from drinking stream water.”

A Tank of Hope

Powered by solar energy, the borehole is designed to supply a consistent and reliable flow of water to a section of the community. But AgroCrown says this is only the beginning.

“We understand the power of development. This is not the end — we are here to stay and do more for Ofosu,” a company representative said at the commissioning ceremony.

Who is AgroCrown?

Agro Crown West Africa Company Limited is a private firm focused on plant protection. It provides innovative agricultural solutions that increase yields and support the entire farming value chain across Ghana. With this intervention, the company is extending its impact from farms to families.

Gratitude and a Plea

While residents are grateful, they say the work is far from done.

“We thank AgroCrown from the depths of our hearts,” said Chief Tetteh Komla. “But many parts of our community still have no water. Our roads are bad, and our schools are in poor condition. We are appealing to government agencies, NGOs, and other companies to follow AgroCrown’s example.”

As the sun sets behind the towering polytank, buckets brim with fresh water. For the first time in years, Ofosu’s people are smiling with hope — hope not just for water, but for continued development and dignity.
