Dominase clash: Six arrested, injured officers transferred to Police hospital

-

Six suspects have been arrested in connection with the recent violent clash between alleged ghetto boys and security personnel at Dominase Junction in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

Three security officers—two police officers and one immigration officer—who sustained injuries during the confrontation have been transferred to the Police Hospital in Accra for further treatment.

The clash erupted during a joint operation and demolition exercise conducted by the Gomoa East District Assembly and the Central East Regional Police Command.

The operation targeted criminal hideouts behind the Dominase Onion Market. Unfortunately, one civilian was killed during the incident.

Nana Adjoa Oboma, Queen Mother of the Gomoa Akyempim Market (commonly known as the Dominase Onion Market), confirmed the ongoing security concerns in an interview with Adom News. She revealed that armed robbers, believed to be operating from the ghetto, have been terrorizing commuters and market women in the area.

She also noted that these criminals have stolen large quantities of foodstuffs and goods belonging to traders, further threatening the livelihoods of local vendors.

Security presence has since been reinforced in the area as investigations continue.
