Ouattara admits title challenge will be tough for Hearts of Oak

-

Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has conceded that winning the Ghana Premier League this season will be a significant challenge for his side.

The coach’s admission came following a goalless draw against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in Sunday’s highly anticipated Super Clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The stalemate leaves the Phobians sixth on the league table with 46 points, with just four matches remaining in the campaign.

Speaking after the match, Ouattara acknowledged the uphill task facing his team in the title race but maintained that Hearts will continue to push until the end.

“Regarding the league, for us, we think it’s difficult to say we are winning the league. But we are fighting until the end of the season. Everybody is fighting,” he said.

“Top four, top three, top two, top one, it’s the same. We are fighting to achieve something. But don’t forget, we have come a long way,” he added.

While the draw ended Hearts’ four-game losing streak against Kotoko, it did little to boost their league position.

The Accra-based side will now shift their focus to Matchday 31, where they face Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park, aiming to secure a vital three points.
