The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), under the leadership of CEO Malik Basintale, has signed a one-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ghana National Fire Service to recruit 5,000 young Ghanaians as Fire Service Assistants across the country.
Announcing the development on social media, Mr. Basintale described the move as part of efforts to create jobs and strengthen emergency response capacity through the YEA Fire Module.
The recruitment exercise is expected to begin next week.
“This partnership is a step forward in tackling youth unemployment while enhancing fire safety efforts nationwide,” he stated.
The initiative is set to boost the human resource base of the Fire Service while providing valuable employment opportunities for the youth.
This is also in line with the government’s larger agenda to reset the nation.
