The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs has directed all Regional Ministers and Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to urgently submit details of Assembly Members within their jurisdiction.
This forms part of efforts to begin the payment of monthly allowances.
The Ministry has instructed all officials to use a standardised template provided by the Ministry and to submit the required information via email to the Decentralisation Unit, copying Mr. Samuel Passah at samuel.passah@mlgrd.gov.gh, no later than Friday, 9th May 2025.
The directive, dated 30th April 2025, follows the government’s commitment under its “Resetting Agenda” and refers to Page 73, Section 395 of the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy, which makes provision for monthly allowances for all Assembly Members.
Meanwhile, the assemblies have been urged to treat the matter with urgency and ensure timely submission to avoid delays in the implementation process.
