The Omankrado of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Kwesi Qunasah, has announced a strict ban on the use of drugs, including substances like “red” and marijuana, ahead of the Easter Monday celebrations at the Gomoa Fetteh Beach.
Speaking to Adom News, Nana Qunasah — known for his community support, including his donation of a cow for the Adom TV Fufuo Party — urged revellers to respect the community’s values and refrain from bringing drugs into the area during the festivities.
He stressed that the traditional council, led by the Nananom, has instituted tight security measures to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration, with a particular focus on preventing incidents of drowning.
“We don’t want anyone to take in drugs or alcohol before going into the sea. This is to protect lives and ensure everyone returns home safely,” Nana Qunasah stated.
Sub-chiefs of the area also echoed his call, urging the youth to conduct themselves with discipline and responsibility throughout the Easter celebrations to avoid any unfortunate incidents.
