The Humanitarian Aid Relief Team (HART) Foundation, a US-based organisation, has conducted 80 free surgeries in the Ahafo Region, providing essential medical care to underserved communities.

Dr. James Ankomah, Medical Superintendent of Goaso Municipal Hospital, told ADOM NEWS that the procedures included operations for goiter, hernia, tumors, and plastic surgeries, among others. The surgeries were carried out at Goaso Municipal Hospital and Kukuom Hospital, benefiting patients from across the Ahafo Region and neighboring areas.

Dr. Ankomah commended the foundation for supporting individuals who have faced long-standing challenges in accessing medical care due to financial constraints.

Former Ahafo Regional Minister George Yaw Boakye, who initially facilitated HART Foundation’s presence in the region, described this year’s visit as the most successful to date, citing the high number of surgeries and extensive community outreach. He also praised the current regional minister, the coordinating council, and the six municipal and district assemblies for their support, confirming that the foundation plans to continue providing free medical services in the region.
