A 45-year-old farmer, Samuel Abanga, has been shot dead by suspected armed robbers in Pamuruso, a farming community in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.
According to residents, Mr. Abanga was returning home from his farm when the attack occurred. His wife, Hawa Mohammed, recounted that gunshots had been heard in the area earlier, and she later received the devastating news of her husband’s death.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, but his lifeless body was discovered along the road leading to his home.
The attack has left residents in shock and raised renewed concerns about the increasing spate of robberies in the area. Locals lamented that this is not an isolated incident, noting that armed robbery attacks have become more frequent in the community.
Residents are appealing to the Ghana Police Service to intensify security by mounting checkpoints and increasing patrols to safeguard lives and property.
