A 43-year-old resident of Kadentwe, a farming community in the Kete-Krachi West Municipality of the Oti Region, is appealing for urgent financial and material support to raise GH¢10,000 for ongoing medical treatment following multiple surgeries.

Patrick Abdullah is currently on admission at the Nkwanta South Municipal Hospital, where he is receiving care in the VIP Ward.

Medical staff say he is battling complications arising from typhoid perforation. Due to the severity of his condition and the surgeries he has undergone, he is now living with an ileostomy, making his recovery process prolonged and challenging.

In response to his situation, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkwanta South, Joseph Awal Antwi, has presented GH¢2,000 to the hospital’s management to support the patient’s immediate needs.

He also used the opportunity to appeal to the public to contribute toward the outstanding hospital bills and treatment costs.

Speaking to Adom News, Joseph Antwi explained that he came across the appeal on social media after the hospital issued a request for assistance.

He said the assembly, together with the Member of Parliament for Nkwanta South, Geoffrey Kini, was moved by the patient’s condition and decided to make a donation to support his care.

While acknowledging the assembly’s intervention, the MCE stressed that more support is still needed to meet the full cost of treatment.

He urged individuals, groups, and benevolent organisations to assist in any form possible, including cash donations, food items, drinking water, blood donations, and other essential supplies, noting that every contribution will help reduce the burden on the patient and support his recovery.

The Medical Officer in charge, Dr. William Kudiewu, also appealed to the general public for help, explaining that Patrick’s case requires sustained medical attention.

He reiterated that the patient has undergone multiple surgeries, currently has an ileostomy, and continues to face serious complications that have made his recovery difficult.

Patrick Abdullah expressed gratitude to the Nkwanta South MCE, hospital management, and all supporters for the assistance received so far.

He further appealed to the public to come to his aid, saying additional support will be crucial for him to undergo treatment successfully and regain his health.
