Rising Ghanaian artiste AratheJay has formally petitioned organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, Charterhouse, seeking clarification over the exclusion of his debut album, The Odyssey, from key nomination categories in the 27th edition.

In a letter addressed to the TGMA Board and Academy, the artiste’s management expressed appreciation for the three nominations he secured: Best Music Video for “Put Am on God,” Best Reggae/Dancehall Song for “Talisman” featuring Stonebwoy, and a Best Hiplife Song nod as a featured artiste on Ko-Jo Cue’s “Tontone.”

However, the team raised concerns over what they describe as notable omissions, particularly in the Album/EP of the Year category, for which The Odyssey had been submitted.

Other omitted categories include “Put Am On God” for Best Rap Performance and “Cover Me” for Best Male Vocal Performance.

According to the petition, the project meets the criteria outlined by the awards scheme, which considers both the number of hit songs and quality of production.

The management argued that the album demonstrated strong commercial performance, citing its consistent presence in the Top 5 albums on Apple Music Ghana since its release in October 2025.

They further indicated that the album’s performance and reception place it among deserving contenders, prompting their request for an official explanation from the TGMA Board.

The petition adds to growing scrutiny around this year’s nominations, as industry players continue to question certain decisions by Charterhouse.

Charterhouse is yet to publicly respond to the concerns raised by AratheJay’s team.
