Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, has paid a visit to the Black Stars camp as Ghana prepares for a decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali.
The Black Stars will host the Eagles on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium in a Matchday 8 Group I encounter.
Adams’ visit comes on the back of Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Chad in N’Djamena on Thursday, a result that cost the team two valuable points.
The Minister’s presence was aimed at lifting spirits in camp and reaffirming government’s support for the national team ahead of the high-stakes fixture.
Despite the setback, Ghana remains top of Group I with 16 points from seven matches, holding a three-point lead over Madagascar and a four-point cushion above Mali.
The squad has also received a timely boost with the arrival of Joseph Paintsil and Alexander Djiku, while midfielder Kwasi Sibo has earned a late call-up.
The four-time African champions will need nothing short of victory on Monday to strengthen their qualification hopes for the World Cup, which will be staged across the USA, Canada, and Mexico in 2026.
Kick-off at the Accra Sports Stadium is scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
