2026 WCQ: Partey, Djiku start as Otto Addo announce starting XI for Mali clash

Black Stars

Ghana head coach Otto Addo has announced his starting XI for the decisive Matchday 8 clash against Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars, under pressure to bounce back after dropping points in a 1-1 draw against Chad in N’Djamena, will be boosted by the return of key players Thomas Partey and Alexander Djiku, both of whom missed the last outing.

Midfielder Kwasi Sibo, a late call-up to the squad, comes straight into the lineup to partner Partey in central midfield following Elisha Owusu’s suspension.

Benjamin Asare retains his place in goal, shielded by a defensive unit that includes Gideon Mensah, Caleb Yirenkye and Jonas Adjetey.

In attack, captain Jordan Ayew will spearhead the frontline alongside Mohammed Kudus and Antoine Semenyo as Ghana seek a crucial victory at the Accra Sports Stadium.
