Ghana coach Otto Addo has called on his players to maintain full concentration as the Black Stars prepare for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic.
The Group I leaders, who currently sit on 19 points, will face CAR at the Stade d’Honneur in Meknes, Morocco, this afternoon, with kick-off set for 16:00 GMT.
Addressing the media ahead of the encounter, Addo cautioned his team against complacency, stressing that a lack of focus could prove costly on matchday.
“At the end, we have worked together because it’s a team sport. Individuals can make a change, but the most important thing is to work together, work to our strengths and know how to respond when things go wrong,” the 49-year-old said.
He further reminded his players of the lessons from their last away fixture against Chad, where lapses in concentration almost derailed their efforts.
“Everything is in our hands, but I hope that we learnt the lesson from the last away game against Chad. It is important that we stay focused and concentrated and not think we have already won because that is a danger,” Addo added.
The Black Stars will return to Ghana after the game to host Comoros in their final Group I qualifier on October 12 at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
