2026 WCQ: FIFA announces dates for Black Stars games in September

World football governing body FIFA has officially confirmed the dates for Matchdays 7 and 8 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, scheduled for September 2025.

Ghana’s Black Stars will face Chad and Mali as they continue their quest to secure a place at the global tournament in North America.

The first fixture will see Otto Addo’s men travel to N’Djamena to take on Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on Thursday, September 4. Kick-off is set for 13:00 GMT.

Ghana will then return home to host Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8. The match is scheduled to begin at 19:00 GMT.

The Black Stars currently sit atop Group I with 15 points from six games, having recorded five wins and one loss. They maintain a three-point lead over second-placed Comoros and are five points ahead of Madagascar in third.

The final round of qualifiers is scheduled for October 2025, where the top team in each group will automatically qualify for the World Cup.
