2026 WCQ: Fatawu Issahaku returns to Black Stars starting XI against CAR

Black Stars coach Otto Addo have welcomed back winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku to the starting lineup for their Matchday 9 clash against the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Leicester City attacker returns after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury.

The match is set to take place at Morocco’s Stade d’Honneur, with Ghana aiming to secure an early ticket to next year’s World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Otto Addo has named Benjamin Asare in goal, while Caleb Yirenkyi, Gideon Mensah, Salisu Mohammed, and Alexander Djiku form the defensive line charged with containing the hosts. In midfield, Thomas Partey continues his partnership with Kwasi Sibo.

The attacking trio comprises Mohammed Kudus, Antoine Semenyo, and Fatawu Issahaku, operating behind captain Jordan Ayew.
