Tottenham Hotspur forward Mohammed Kudus has expressed his excitement ahead of Ghana’s Group L clash with England at the 2026 World Cup.
The Black Stars will face the Three Lions next year in a tournament co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Kudus, preparing for his second World Cup, described the upcoming match as a thrilling challenge and assured that the team will be ready.
“Just qualifying for the World Cup is already a big statement from us. And it’s good that we face England in the group. It will be an exciting match. I’m looking forward to it,” Kudus said on Monday ahead of Spurs’ Champions League game against Slavia Praha.
“We fully understand the team we’ll be up against and their quality, and we will be ready for it,” the Ghana international added.
Ghana’s group also includes Croatia and Panama. The Black Stars open their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, face England on June 23 in Boston, and conclude the group stage against 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
The 2026 tournament will mark Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance, following campaigns in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022. Their best run came in 2010, when they reached the quarterfinals.
