Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kwesi Nyantakyi has called on the Black Stars’ technical team to consider inviting Callum Hudson-Odoi and Eddie Nketiah for the 2026 World Cup.
Both forwards, representing Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest respectively, have been in the spotlight following Ghana’s qualification for the tournament.
“The Black Stars is open to every Ghanaian who is eligible to play,” Nyantakyi told JoyNews.
“Some people become a bit sentimental and emotional, ‘oh, this guy dumped Ghana’, but I am interested in people who can help us achieve results.
“People like Eddie Nketiah and Hudson-Odoi, let’s take out our emotions and give them the chance if the coach thinks they can compete favourably,” he added.
The GFA previously approached the duo about switching national allegiance, but the efforts did not materialize.
Nketiah has one senior cap for England and has scored four goals across all competitions this season, while Hudson-Odoi has three England appearances and three goals for Nottingham Forest.
Ghana will open their Group L campaign against Panama, followed by matches against England and Croatia, with coach Otto Addo expected to announce the final squad on June 1.
