The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, is looking ahead to the 2026 World Cup draw with quiet optimism, believing the Black Stars are well-placed for a favourable outcome as they await news of their group opponents later today in Washington, DC.

Ghana, already assured of a place at the Mundial, will learn their path at a ceremony scheduled for the John F. Kennedy Center.

Okraku, who is part of the Ghanaian delegation in the United States, said the draw could serve as the springboard for a more focused build-up to the tournament.

“I expect Ghana to get a good group, and I expect us to move to the next level of preparations after the draw. I expect us to do well,” he said.

After a disappointing group-stage exit in Qatar two years ago, the Black Stars are eager for a more competitive showing on the world stage next summer. They go into today’s draw seeded in Pot 4.

Okraku is accompanied by Executive Council member Randy Abbey, head coach Otto Addo and other football officials, who are all in the U.S. for the event.
